Steve Jobs’ detailed four year plan for the iPhone leaked.
Year 1, post Jobs-
Release iPhone 5. Have sympathetic press go “meh.” Watch the press say it is really an iPhone 4SS. But make sure it has a new form factor. Apple fans love new form factors! Watch as sales skyrocket. Laugh maniacally as competing fanboys complain. PS- cockblock Google on a patent acquisition; that’s always fun.
Year 2- Release iPhone 5S. No new form factor. Have sympathetic press go “meh” and complain that is’s really just a re-badged iPhone 5 with a few hardware tweaks and some new software. Don’t worry- Apple fans don’t care about form factors. Watch as sales skyrocket. Laugh maniacally as competing fanboys complain. PS- sue someone.
Year 3- Release iPhone 6. Have sympathetic press go “meh.” Watch the press say it is really an iPhone 5S. But make sure it has a new form factor. Apple fans love new form factors! Watch as sales skyrocket. Laugh maniacally as competing fanboys complain. PS- Announce something else that starts with an “i”… um, “iHologram?” “iBuyMe” “iCompleteMyLifeBecauseICan’tLiveWitoutYou”…. get R&D on it! Make sure it integrates with phone so they’ll never leave the walled garden. Did I mention the whole laughing maniacally part? That’s really important.
Year 4- Release iPhone 6S. No new form factor. Have sympathetic press go “meh” and complain that is’s really just a re-badged iPhone 6 with a few hardware tweaks and some new software. Don’t worry- Apple fans don’t care about form factors. Watch as sales skyrocket. Laugh maniacally as competing fanboys complain. PS- sprinkle my grave with the tears of Android fanboys and the lamentations of their women…. JK- fanboys have no women! You should’ve collected enough tears by now for the resurrection spell.
Oh- and one more thing. For every new form factor, get Ives on it. Something about the blood of virgins and a new way to re-design a rectangular 3.5” screen so it looks magical and revolutionary and new. Also- something about going from glass to fine china. That is all.
